My mom has always said that fall ends up being way busier than summer and I think she's right. I think that what happens in Ohio is that people start to panic--the first hints of cold weather appear and people realize that things are going to be pretty miserable until at least March, so they try to soak up as much of the sunny, Ugg-and-parka-free days as they can before they're gone.
We definitely fall into the above category of people, so we've done some fun things lately:
Libby spent two evenings at "cheer camp" at Tom's school. She adores the cheerleaders and they are so sweet to her. Being able to hang out with them at the games is pretty much the highlight of her week.
We went to the Jason Aldean concert with Mike and Renee. We had so much fun and the girls had a fun night hanging out with Aunt Mary and Leah.
We went to the fair. You may remember from last year that the fair is a big deal here (like, two-days-off-school-and-some-of-Tom's-players-miss-football-to-show-chickens big). Libby loved the rides this year and we finally had to cap the ticket purchases because we were going broke.
We went apple picking. It was more like apple gathering, because the wind had knocked almost all of the apples off the trees to the ground. The good news was that that made all of the apples free for te taking! Libby loved it. Side note: the fact that Libby strikes a "pose" every time I try to take a picture means that 99% of my pictures turn out like this:
Awesome. If anyone has any tips for making your child appear normal in photos, I'm all ears.
Libby and Tom went on a breakfast date to Cracker Barrel.
And Juliet keeps growing! She's getting so close to sitting up on her own, she's starting to take an interest in toys and she still adores her big sister!
