On Saturday, we spent part of the day at Ikea (Mike and Renee had never been, and they needed some new furniture) and then we spent the rest of the day getting ready for our Halloween party! Tom and I went as a pregnant 50's housewife and the milkman. Our friends all dressed up as well--we had a train conductor, lumberjack, bee, Steelers fans/players, baseball player, ladybug, Popeye and Olive Oil. We ended up having about 15 people here. Most of them were friends from college, but a few people that I used to work with at Tuckaseegee stopped by as well. One of those couples was Kari and Dan, who got married about a month after us and are now expecting a baby girl about 10 weeks after our baby is due! It was nice catching up with everyone, but we were all a bit disappointed in ourselves that we just can't party the way we used to in college. Its only been less than 3 years since we graduated, but "real life" has aged us :) The boys didn't struggle with getting back to their old college ways, though. They played some pretty intense games of beer pong and enjoyed sitting outside around the bonfire. Several people spent the night, and we went out for breakfast this morning before they all headed back to Raleigh.

We didn't get too many trick or treaters here last year, so we're not expecting many this year, but we'll have candy in hand and Bauer in the crate just in case. We'll leave you with some images of Halloween at our house this year: Scarlet, who quickly understood the whole "trick or treaters" concept, and then spent the rest of the evening patiently awaiting any new friends. And Bauer, who also understands the "trick or treaters" concept, and thus needs to be physically restrained. Happy Halloween!

Loved your costumes!! Dad and I laughed out loud at the pics of Scarlet and Bauer. They are too funny!
