BHG: Months 6-9

Height/Weight:  TBD--we have a well check tomorrow!

Diapers and Clothes: Currently wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes, for the length. He's still super long and lean, so finding clothes that fit his length without falling off is sometimes a challenge. A lot of the hand-me-down pants we have look like clown pants on him. Skinny jeans are his jam. Size 4 diapers.

Health: All good. Battled a couple colds over the winter but that's to be expected. He had a fever virus in February when we were in Cleveland visiting my parents and that was pretty miserable because we were away from home and I just felt so bad for him. He ran another fever just after he turned 9 months and again, he was just a puddle who wanted to be held and slept on me. I felt terrible for him but loved the extra snuggles.

Sleep: WE ARE SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! I can finally say that he is consistently sleeping through the night, and it is amazing. He started right around 8 months, and we still have some setbacks now and then (mostly when he's teething or not feeling well) but it lasts a day or two and then back to normal. He takes two good naps a day (as long as we're home--despite my best efforts, this kid does not sleep well on the go). His naps are usually 9-11 and 1-3:30ish with bedtime around 6:30.

Eating:  Still nursing 3-4 times a day. This dude loves table food. Its sort of amazing that he isn't way chunkier than he is (hello, genetics--Tom was a long and lean baby too) because this guy eats a ton. If it were up to him, he would spend his whole day moving from the crib to the high chair and back again. He seriously just wants to sleep and eat. He loves bananas, mangoes, bread and cheese. He has no interest in anything that he can't feed to himself. He says, "MMMM! MMMM!" when he sees food and gets super excited. We finally stopped spitting up too, so hooray for my laundry basket!

Baby Gear Love:  Ergo/Moby--this guy insists on being held everywhere he goes (he still refuses to be mobile in any capacity), so these are a lifesaver. Our IKEA high chair. I hear new moms ask all the time for high chair recommendations. We've owned four different high chair variations and hands down, the IKEA chair is the best. The Dohm sound machine. I had my mom buy two of these for Christmas for us a few years ago and they are worth every single penny. With as much noise as there is going on in our house, I credit those things to ensuring that everyone gets the sleep they need.

Likes: Hoodie strings--if we're holding him and have a sweatshirt on, this guy is obsessed. Ceiling lights and fans--he gets so excited when a light is on, especially if there is a fan involved. His puppy--he definitely is attached to his lovey and rarely falls asleep without it. Kyle Busch truck toy--he seems to prefer this toy over others on the rare occasion that he will happily sit and play on a blanket. Leaning back and hanging upside down--he thinks this is the most wonderful thing ever, and will throw himself back repeatedly when we're holding him.

Dislikes: Having nails cut, getting in the car seat, being tired, learning to crawl/roll/be mobile in any capacity

Milestones: Babbling "da da da" at seven months, growling at seven months, perfecting the pincer grasp around 8 1/2 months, waving and saying "hi" around 8 months, sticking tongue out just over 9 months, dancing to music at almost 8 months, sitting up independently

Other Stuff to Remember: Separation anxiety is in full swing, and this guy is super attached to me. He's usually a pretty happy, laid back kid--until I walk into the room. If he sees or hears me, he just cries to be held. I'm starting to see little glimpses of a toddler temper emerging. When B-man gets mad, he's been known to throw himself back with crazy force, so we've had more than one incident of major meltdowns because he's mad AND he's whacked his head on something (usually the high chair or car seat). He still gets so excited when he sees us, especially Libby and Juliet. He things watching them is the best thing ever, and I always say that that's probably the reason he's not mobile yet--he has no reason to be, because there's always so much action going on around him. He is such a fun baby, and this is such a fun age.
