Fright Night

We kicked off our Halloween festivities by carving our pumpkin on Sunday afternoon (the day before Halloween). And that pumpkin that we so carefully picked out to be Libby's "first pumpkin" from the local farm a couple weeks ago? Squishy on the outside, black on the inside. We figured there was no reason to traumatize Libby by exposing her to a rotten pumpkin during her first carving experience, so Tom was one of "those people," running around like crazy trying to find a pumpkin on the day before Halloween. He finally tracked one down at Home Depot (and was probably wondering why we didn't just do that to begin with) and we I carved it.

On Halloween, I decided to dress Libby in her Maiden football gear, since that was our originally planned-upon costume (before we got the hand-me-down ladybug costume) and Tom not-so-secretly had his heart set on her wearing her Maiden gear at some point. She loved watching the trick-or-treaters come to the door and waved frantically at everyone. When Tom got home, we took her to one neighbor's house to get candy and then it was back home and off to bed. Trick or treating is kind of overrated when you're 10 months old.
