Diapers and Clothes: Size 3 diapers, 12 month clothes
Health: No sickness--might you escape your entire first year with nothing more than one little cold?!?
Sleep: With the exception of a few random nights where you had trouble (which I blame on teething), we're still good here. You wake around 6:45 (I would love you so much if you would just sleep a little later...), you take a morning nap from about 9:30-11, an afternoon nap from about 1:30-3 and then you're ready for bed around 6:30.
Eating: You are most happy when you are being held or eating. You nurse three times a day (before breakfast, lunch and dinner) and you eat three good meals at the table per day, plus a snack here and there. Breakfast is usually a waffle with almond butter plus fruit, lunch is leftovers or some cheese with fruit and crackers or pasta, and dinner is whatever we're all having. You love fruit--berries and oranges are your favorite! You love any kind of cracker too. Meats are usually your least favorite but you're really not too picky. We can't eat anything around you without you yelling and demanding that we share with you. You start kicking and fussing as soon as you sense that we are preparing food and we usually can't get it to you fast enough!
Baby Gear Love: Baby gates! You're army crawling a lot these days, so gates are a must. It's not technically "baby gear" but a paring knife and tiny cutting board have been essential in the food prep world these days. Tylenol for sleepless teething nights.
Likes: Playing peek a boo, dancing, waving hi, eating, when we open up the car door to get you out (you get so excited and start kicking and breathing heavily, like you thought we might leave you in there forever), the book "Doggies" by Sandra Boynton, Bitty Baby (you love to give her kisses), petting the dogs, feeding the dogs from your high chair, any toy that Libby is playing with
Dislikes: Getting in and out of the car seat, being alone for more than a minute, running out of food
Milestones: You now wave and say "hi" (it sounds like "ahhhhhy" to the untrained ear). You babble "da-da-da-da" and "ba-ba-ba-ba" and I think I may have heard a "ma-ma-ma-ma" the other day! You're still not crawling on all fours like the physical therapist would like to see you do, but your army crawl has gotten more efficient and you have even tried to pull up on things a couple times. You can get up on all fours and stay there for a couple seconds but you haven't figured out how to move anywhere like that. You got your first tooth this month! It was a rough few days, complete with night wakings and a super runny nose. We think several other teeth are not too far behind the first and I'm a little bit dreading it.
Other Stuff to Remember: When you were a newborn and I told people how wonderfully you and Libby were getting along, veteran moms warned me about the drama that would surely ensue once you were mobile. This month, we found out that they weren't lying. As soon as Libby sits down to play with something or read something, you scoot right over and want to hold it too. This usually infuriates her, which leads me to having to choose a side, which leads to one of you getting really upset. I'm sure it's only going to get worse before it gets better, so I'm trying not to let it bother me but it's exhausting. We've really started to have to watch you now that you're more mobile because you get into things--you've already attempted to eat dog food and drywall anchors. You are a happy baby, so long as you're getting attention. If I need to start dinner or throw a load of laundry in, you're not usually content to sit near me playing with toys. You need to be engaged at all times. Your personality is really starting to develop--we find ourselves laughing at you much more frequently now and just enjoying getting to know the little person you're becoming!
