The holidays are officially upon us! I always adore this time of year, but having an (almost) 2 year old makes it extra special. She is just barely old enough to have somewhat of a sense of what is going on and her excitement about it all is contagious. Tom and I have both said that we can see how easy it is for parents to go overboard at this time of year--when we see how Libby's eyes light up when we walk through the Christmas section of Target, we feel like maybe we really DO need eight giant inflatable reindeer and a light-up, life-size Santa after all. We decorated the tree this past weekend and when Libby saw the lights on it for the first time, she kept saying, "LOOK at it! Mama did a GOOD JOB!"
We had a great Thanksgiving weekend--we got to spend a lot of quality time with Mary, which is always fun. We enjoyed a night out in Hudson, dinner with Tom's family, a visit with Santa on the green downtown and plenty of time curled up by the fire in our sweatpants, which is priceless.

Remember when this blog was mostly all about these guys?

She loved Santa and had no fear whatsoever!
|
How easy would you guess it is to decorate a tree while your toddler lays in prime real estate reading a miniature sized book?

I thought about cropping the Cesar Milan-sized pack of dogs we have out of this photo, but that would not be an accurate representation of our life.
