We had a great long weekend in Ohio with our families celebrating Thanksgiving this past week. We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and went out to Strongsville in the evening to see some of Tom's high school friends. He had a great time catching up with them and benefitting from my current status as permanent designated driver.
On Thursday, we were lucky enough to get to spend the day with both sets of parents and sisters at once. Tom's family came to Hudson to have Thanksgiving dinner. It made things a lot easier on us and it was nice sharing the day with everyone and not feeling rushed to split time between families. My mom made a delicious dinner and Tom's mom brought some great desserts!
On Friday, Tom woke up at 3 a.m. to head to Walmart for some Black Friday deals. He and his dad picked up new laptops for us, Alli and my grandparents, among other things. With Tom's and my laptops both shot and me having to give my work laptop back come January, we figured it was time for a new one. Tom had the pleasure of teaching Nana and Grandad "Laptops 101" on Friday afternoon. We did some shopping at Target and Kohl's, which was nice, because we got some stuff done without fighting the crazy Black Friday crowds.
On Saturday, we spent the day in Strongsville watching the OSU vs. Michigan game, and then headed back to Hudson that night for some relaxation before hitting the road on Sunday. The drive back took a couple more hours than usual, and I was pretty uncomfortable and antsy by the time we finally arrived back in Huntersville. Regardless, it was worth it to spend a few days with family!
We're looking forward to having everyone here at some point or another in the next month for Christmas!
